Sunny skies and fresh powder greeted the 462 registered participants from toddlers to those in their eighties as they arrived at the Larch Hills Nordic chalet on Saturday, January 20th.

On October 28, 2017 members of the Shuswap Amateur Radio club met at the Eagle Bay QTH of SK Tom VE7AMM, long-standing and valued member of the club, who had been licensed as a ham almost 60 years ago.
The Shuswap Amateur Radio Club has achieved another successful and enjoyable Field Day at Haney Heritage Park.
After the Tuesday lunch at Jane’s Restaurant in the Piccadilly Mall, on June 13, Robin VE7HMN, Simon VE7SHG, and Dave VA7HDY went up the club trailer at the QTH of Peter VE7RZZ for some antenna testing.
On Saturday 10 January the following club members met at the QTH of Peter VE7RZZ to get the ball rolling for Field Day 2017:
Peter VE7RZZ, Simon VE7SHG, Robin VE7HMN, Dave VA7HDY, Tim VA7TMK, Al VE7AN, and Ron VE7RLE.
Following the business meeting of SARC on Thursday, 8 June 2017, past president Robin VE7HMN, a member of the Technical Committee, demonstrated a kit which he had assembled in the past week or so.
As luck would have it, I met Werner VE7GWE today in the library.
It will likely be the last time he graces us with his presence for several more years.
Tom Wrinch VE7AMM, a radio amateur for approximately 60 years, and a well-known and respected teacher in the Shuswap School District, succumbed on March 22, 2017 to the ravages of a longstanding illness dating back to a workplace explosion in Trail while he was still a teenager.
