The Shuswap Amateur Radio Club has achieved another successful and enjoyable Field Day at Haney Heritage Park.
The bands were not terrific, but enough contacts were made to get a good deal of satisfaction from participating in this annual event.
Antennas included Wayne Harris’s R7 Cushcraft on the trailer performing well on 40 metres. The second antenna was an 80-metre dipole which was tuned to 20-metres at the start of operation on Saturday and saw 80-metre activity later in the day and evening.
Many hands make light work: in addition to the work parties at Peter’s QTH on June 10 and June 14, the following list [in alphabetical order by call sign] at the Haney site on Saturday and Sunday includes all of those who took part in some or all of Set-Up, Operation, and Tear Down: Daryl VA7DBC, Tim VA7TMK, Wayne VA7VT, Al VE7AN, Robin VE7HMN, Celia VE7NIA, Hans VE7OHR, Mike VE7LOG, Phil VE7BPH, Ray VE7RGZ, Ron VE7RLE, Peter VE7RZZ, and Simon VE7SHG.
It was a pleasure to have this level of interest again this year just prior to the club taking a break in July and August from its regular meetings in the Community Room at the Piccadilly Mall.
