Celebrating the Legacy of Marconi and Morse

On April 25, 2026, the Shuswap Radio Club held a public presentation in recognition of the birthday of Guglielmo Marconi (April 25, 1874) and in remembrance of Samuel Morse (April 27, 1791).

The event took place at Piccadilly Mall in Salmon Arm, running from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Visitors had the opportunity to see Morse code training equipment, VHF/UHF radio gear, and a selection of emergency communications equipment that is always ready for immediate deployment. Informational displays and posters about Guglielmo Marconi and Samuel Morse were also prepared and presented.

The presentation was supported by the following club members and their equipment:

VE7BPH Phil, VE7GSZ Gary, VА7HLL Jim, VE7TTF Steve, VE7LOC Mike,
VA7HDY Dave, VE7CAL Al and VE7PAE Peter.

Interested visitors received information about the club, radio history, and the significance of Morse code.
